Making work in the Eastern Ontario farmlands.

CABOOSE Pottery is a line of small batch, handmade ceramics made in my rural studio, a converted greenhouse.

My current work is largely inspired by Victorian 'chimney pots,' gothic architecture and the principals of
the Arts & Craft movement. My unique glaze recipe is meant to resemble the frost-coloured lichen that grows on weathered stone.

Current Work

Considering humanity's persistent desire to develop and control the world around us, marshland reptiles
are my primary subject matter as a symbol of sacredness, warning, and resilience.

With the style of Gothic Architectural elements in mind, I pay homage to the use of apotropaic designs, a practice of decorating the exterior of sacred buildings with grotesques and repetitive patterns to protect the contents and visitors from harm, but also acting as a warning.
